In the cold of Winter, or Wanyietu in the Lakota language, the string quartet composed by Mellits in 2015 sets the scene, with sounds mingling with verses from the pen of Victor Hugo... alongside extracts from Haydn's Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross (1787) and Mozart's Requiem, transcribed for quartet in 1802. A dialogue between the human and the divine, life and death, heaven and earth... A dialogue between the Adastra Quartet and actress Andréa Ferréol.
