Note of intent

Under the banner of Iberian colors and rhythms, the Adastra Quartet joins forces with virtuoso guitarist José María Gallardo del Rey for a musical journey with flamenco accents. A composer and performer recognized as one of the most inspired heirs to the great Spanish tradition, Gallardo del Rey presents a new, incandescent quintet, imbued with the energy and sensuality of the popular dances of his native country.

Mirroring this, his first quintet, Altamira, now considered a landmark work, unfolds its luminous soundscapes, combining fervor and lyricism. The guitar and strings merge in a dialogue of rare intensity, combining virtuosity, passion, and refinement.

A program in which every note evokes the warmth, colors, and depth of the Spanish soul.
